The main objective of this thesis is to determine the feasibility of using a driving simulator and its potential to increase the likelihood of returning to driving by clients with acquired brain injury in the chronic stage. The first sub-objective is to investigate the influence of driving simulator training on attention and the potential to increase the likelihood of returning to driving by clients with acquired brain injury in the chronic stage. Suggestions for spiritual care for persons with acquired brain injury

This thesis deals with the area of spiritual care for persons that suffered a traumatic brain injury, stroke or another brain damage at adult age. It describes what these people have to go through after termination of acute treatment, what are their needs and coping strategies. It presents results of researches dealing with correlation between spirituality/religiosity and managing of unfavourable circumstances connected with the health condition, therapy and rehabilitation. It summarises the recommendations for suitable adjustment of spiritual care to somatic, communication, cognitive and psychosocial changes, which may occur as a result of the brain injury. It pays special attention to the use of expressive therapies and supplementary methods thanks to which it is possible to reflect spiritual topics also in other ways than in a classical conversation.

Brain injury is a common cause of disability in the adult population. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the quality of life with people after acquired brain injury changes depending on the attendance of a day care centre. Furthermore, the aim is to determine if there is a correlation between subjective WHODAS 2.0 and objektive FIM data. The theoretical part describes the acquired brain injury, its types and consequences and the subsequent rehabilitation. The focus of the thesis is to create a Czech version of DTVP-A:2 and its pilot testing with 4 patients who suffered Acquired Brain Injury. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the problems of Acquired Brain Injury, visual perception, visual perception disorders and assessment of visual perception from occupational therapy standpoint. The theoretical part includes a description of various individual assessment tools which are used in occupational therapy. Co-ordinated rehabilitation after acquired brain injury

The thesis focuses on coordinated rehabilitation with persons after acquired brain injury and they are healing in rehabilitation institute in Kladruby. Purpose of this work is to describe total health and social situtation of adressed clients, which began them and their family after acquired brain injury. The thesis is divided into two main parts - the theoretical part & the research part. The teoretical part includes familiarization with the topic of the diploma. It is divided into seven main chapters. The first and the second part include divison, description and function of the nervous systém & of the brain anatomy. The third chapter is focused on acquired brain injury and its division into strokes, traumatic brain injuries a non-traumatic brain injury. The fourth chapter explains coordinated rehabilitation and its parts - therapeutic, social, educational and work rehabilitation. The fifth chapter theme is preventive function of the rehabilitation, which is very important part of human health either and it is closely connected with risk factors. The sixth chaptor divides individual rehabilitation facilities. The seventh chapter theme is the care in rehabilitation institute in Kladruby. It is described acquaintance with history of the insitute, acquintace with present of the institute and acquaintance with the vision of the rehabilitation care in the future in this rehabilitaion institute. Chapter includes division of complex care provided in rehabilitation facility. The research part includes given goals & research questions. The research and the diploma are supported with agree of ethics comittee of rehabiliation institute in Kladruby. The main goal of this work is to describe basic health and social problems at addressed clients. Partial goal is to identify the most beneficial component of coordinated rehabilitation during the visit the rehabilitation facility. Two research questions are established following research goals. The first question is to find which limits addressed clients perceive as the most essentials. The second question is to describe the intervention which are rated by clients withing the rehabiliation as the most beneficial. In the theoretical part is discribed, which method is the work processed and which methods was used. It explains the choice of research sample of clients, thanks to them, this work is writed. In this work is used the method of qualitative research. The research file is selected by deliberate selection of clients and it is created by four clients - the two women and the two men. All of the addressed clients were acquainted with goals of this work, with the research questions and with possible acquisition of this work in healing the persons after acquired brain injury. The techniques of the data collection is semi-structured interview. The interviews were realized in quiet ambience during the healing of clients in rehabilitation institute. The analysis of the interviews were processed in Atlas.ti 8 software. Resultant diploma informations describe and explain the health and social problems, which are formating to the clients after the brain damage and which way the problems influence their actual life. Next, the results identify priorit part of the coordinated rehabilitation and the sigle components of the complex rehabilitation. It is focused closely on the main part of healing rehabiliton, these are physiotherapy and ergotherapy. The results describe healing in rehabilitation institute in Kladruby, they show importance of the coordinated rehabilitation for persons after brain damage and suitability of rehabilitaion facilities, where is complex care of clients realized.

Arts and Craft are linked with the profession from its beginnings. Craft activities were one of the first meaningful occupations the occupational therapists ever used in their work. These activities were also the first occupations expertly analyzed by occupational therapists. As the society evolved, the role of arts and crafts in occupational therapy changed. Today, the use of Arts and Crafts in therapy is a controversial topic that divides occupational therapists. Some see Arts and Crafts only as a historical part of the profession, outdated and anachronistic, and refuse to use them in their work. Others feel their potential and try to find ways of purposefully including them in their patients' rehabilitation plans. The bachelor thesis presents a view of Arts and Crafts as a therapeutic tool. Dual-Task Program in Neurorehabilitation in Patients with Acquired Brain Injury

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of the use of the dual task in neurorehabilitation in patients with aquired brain injury. Its main goal was to create a program using dual task procedures, which was subsequently applied in a cognitively focused daily rehabilitation stationary of the The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine of the General Hospital and the First Medical Faculty of Charles University. Another goal was to provide settings for using the conditions of the program, its evaluation and finding out whether it was applied to the patient to improve some of the ADL. The research part of the work is processed by the method of qualitative evaluation research through the elaboration of one case study and evaluation of the program by a decision evaluation model. Based on a comprehensive search, a therapeutic program was developed and evaluated. It includes three levels of primary motor tasks and secondary cognitive tasks divided according to specific cognitive functions. This is a pilot study to further investigate the effect of the use of the dual task in people with aquired brain injury. Jana Horynová Title: Stimulation of swallowing within PNF concept in pacient with acquired brain injury A swallowing disorder often occurs as a complication in acquired brain injury diagnosis. In more serious cases it can constitute even life-threatening condition, primarily due to the risk of aspiration and possilbe subsequent development of an inflammatory lung disease. This thesis deals with a possibility of therapeutic influencing of neurogenic dysphagia with utilization of elements of the concept of proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation - PNF. Contrary to the fact that exercise on the PNF basis to influence dysphagia isn't used frequently in clinical practice, it represents highly effective and for the therapist easily managable method of therapy. The practical part contains a case history of patients with dysphagia, to whom the therapy on the PNF basis was applied. One of technologies for production of aids is 3D printing, which is use abroad. Limit is professional and time consuming in preparation of 3D models of printing aids. Reducing this complexity is possible by creating universal 3D models that allow change dimensions of aid without professional intervention. Goal: Main goal is design universal 3D models of aids. Aids help patients engage paretic upper limb and increase self-sufficiency. Based on analysis, activities of daily living in patients with acquired brain injury were selected.
